Personnel Committee

This year, the district implemented a new initiative of using educators to serve on a personnel committee.  The premise is based off the notion that master teachers, as identified by their administrators, become part of the hiring process.  More specifically, members of the personnel committee screen resumes, select candidates and conduct the initial phases of the interview process.  The committee then submits a list of names to the building principal for the demonstration lesson phase.  The position liaison (point person from the committee) remains a part of the demonstration lesson phase of the process.I believe that the initiative also combats the research associated with first year teacher retention.  I would like to commend the personnel committee for their outstanding efforts and hard work on this innovative project!
